Frequently Asked Questions | Weddings
- Wahoo! We're engaged! Now what?
I'm happy to meet with you for a complimentary consultation to get to know you and your significant other, answer your questions, show you sample albums, and see if my services are a good fit for your photography needs. I would suggest you send an email with your wedding date, and any other details that you may already have planned (vendors, locations, etc) and we can book a time to meet. - What is your (Steph's) favourite part to shoot at a wedding?
I had a bride ask me this once and I though she was so thoughtful to come up with the question! I adore the getting ready and pre-ceremony shots. Everyone is excited (and a bit nervous), the hair and makeup is fresh, the anticipation is indescribable. I also love capturing all the details of the flowers, food and décor. - Let's book.
To confirm a booking, you will need to put down a non-refundable deposit to secure the wedding date. Once the date is confirmed to be available, the deposit is received and the contract is signed- then we're officially booked. - What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, email money transfer and cheques (please make payable to Stephanie Hall) are accepted at this point in time. - Why should we consider a “first look” before the wedding?
A “first look” is when the bride & groom see each other before the ceremony and have some photos done at the same time. This allows you a moment to see each other (and talk to each other!) before the ceremony. It also allows a more relaxed time line for photos throughout the day. The first look can be arranged at a special location with just the bride & groom. (My husband and I did this for our wedding 10+ years ago and it was such a good decision!) If you do this- please remember to schedule hair and makeup appointments accordingly (earlier). - Will you be our photographer?
Yes. I love what I do and can't wait to be there! I will also plan to have a photo assistant with me for the day of the shoot to help. - Will you tell us how to pose or stand while taking photos?
Yes, for sure I can help with that! Some parts of the wedding happen and I document it as it unfolds naturally (ceremony, reception); other designated photography time will allow for more informal, posed and creative shots. I want your wedding day to reflect you most importantly. - Do you have backup camera gear?
Yes. Absolutely. - What attire will you wear to our wedding?
It will depend on the formality, location and tone of your wedding. I will most likely ask what your guests will be wearing. A church wedding will require more modest, understated attire where a garden wedding may be a bit more casual/professional. - How much post-processing do you do to the photos?
I look at each and every photo that's been taken. I may do a slight crop or adjustment or minor retouching, but for the most part the photos are not overly doctored. I believe that the photos should look like you and resemble your day. - We're married. What happens with our photographs now?
You'll first see a sneak peek preview that consists of a few facebook teasers and a retrospect blog post. Then approximately 4-6 weeks after that you'll receive an edited images disc of the event. Highly recommended is a beautiful keepsake album compiled by Stephanie to showcase your wedding day highlights and is available at an additional cost. - More questions?
